Barry D. Rooth
Barry Rooth has over 30 years of experience in litigating personal injury and medical malpractice cases in the Indiana and Illinois state and federal courts. He has also argued cases before the Indiana Court of Appeals and for the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. Born in Chicago, Barry grew up in Northwest Indiana. Along with Perry Theodoros, Barry is a founding partner at Theodoros & Rooth, P.C., which has been representing injured clients since 1988.
In a case that gained international attention and scrutiny, Barry represented more than 280 plaintiffs against Dr. Mark Weinberger, M.D., an ear nose and throat doctor who previously practiced in Merrillville, Indiana. In 2004, Barry began to investigate his medical practices and ultimately obtained a global settlement for his patients from the Indiana Patients Compensation Fund. Weinberger ultimately pleaded guilty to 22 counts of insurance fraud and recently completed serving a 7-year sentence. “It’s unprecedented,” said Rooth at the time. “No one Indiana doctor has been responsible for as many cases as Mark Weinberger.”

An avid athlete, Barry has successfully completed several triathlons and has for many years supported the fundraising efforts of the Indiana Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation and the local Hospice chapter. Barry also completed the 2009 Chicago Marathon.
Barry has been involved in the development of immunological cancer immunotherapy. Barry serves as a Director of Quantum Immunologic, Inc. and its successor, Benovus Bio, Inc., biotech start-ups. At Quantum, Barry was involved in managing an FDA-authorized Phase I/II clinical study trials testing the immunotherapy in women with advanced breast cancer.
Barry lives in Munster with his wife, Lisa, and has two daughters.
