Barry Rooth has over 30 years of experience in litigating personal injury and medical malpractice cases in the Indiana and Illinois state and federal courts. He has also argued cases before the Indiana Court of Appeals and for the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. Born in Chicago, Barry grew up in Northwest Indiana. Along with Perry Theodoros, Barry is a founding partner at Theodoros & Rooth, P.C., which has been representing injured clients since 1988.

In a case that gained international attention and scrutiny, Barry represented more than 280 plaintiffs against Dr. Mark Weinberger, M.D., an ear nose and throat doctor who previously practiced in Merrillville, Indiana. In 2004, Barry began to investigate his medical practices and ultimately obtained a global settlement for his patients from the Indiana Patients Compensation Fund. Weinberger ultimately pleaded guilty to 22 counts of insurance fraud and recently completed serving a 7-year sentence. “It’s unprecedented,” said Rooth at the time. “No one Indiana doctor has been responsible for as many cases as Mark Weinberger.”

Barry has also been litigating over 300 cases against local cardiologists and the Community Hospital. The story and our clients have been highlighted in a recent

"I have received enormous satisfaction over the years representing clients in medical negligence cases. We feel very strongly that we work we do representing victims of malpractice promotes the concept of "Patient Safety" by calling attention to dangers within the healthcare field."
