Barry Rooth was born in Chicago and grew up in Northwest Indiana. Barry, along with Perry Theodoros, is a founding partner of Theodoros & Rooth, P.C., and has nearly 30 years of experience in litigating personal injury and medical malpractice cases in the Indiana and Illinois state and federal courts. He has also argued cases before the Indiana Court of Appeals and for the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mark Weinberger, M.D., and ear nose and throat doctors previously practicing in Merrillville, Indiana, became the subject of widespread publicity and scrutiny, when, in 2004, Barry began to investigate his medical practices and ultimately filed several medical malpractice lawsuits against Dr. Weinberger and his corporate entities. Barry currently represents more than 280 plaintiffs against Dr. Weinberger, who presently awaits trial on 22 counts of insurance fraud.
An avid athlete, Barry has successfully completed several triathlons, and has for many years supported the fundraising efforts of the Indiana Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. This year, he will participate in a 2-day bicycling event covering 200 miles in the Carmel, Indiana area. Barry has also completed the Chicago Marathon in 2009.
Barry has been involved in the development of immunological cancer immunotherapy in his capacity as Executive Vice-President of Quantum Immunologics, Inc., a biotech start-up currently sponsoring an FDA-authorized Phase I/II clinical study trials testing the therapy in women with advanced breast cancer.
